You’ll reconnect with your Real Self through daily mindfulness practice and gain the skills and confidence to integrate mindfulness into your classroom, school setting, or your work with children or adolescents in age-appropriate ways.

Week 1: Mindfulness in Schools Today
Learn the research behind mindfulness in education. Explore the science of attention, automatic pilot, and how to begin building a mindful life. Practise Mindfulness of Breath meditation adapted for children, teenagers, and staff.
Week 2: Neuroscience, Gratitude & Mind-Body Connection
Explore the science of neuroplasticity and the MBCT model. Understand how thoughts, feelings, and sensations interact. Practise the Body Scan for yourself and learn adaptations for pupils of different ages.
Week 3: Mindfulness of Thoughts, Flow & Character Strengths
Explore how Unhelpful Thinking Styles negatively impact wellbeing. Learn Flow theory and Positive Psychology tools. Complete the Character Strengths Survey and introduce the Mindfulness of Thoughts meditation for primary and secondary students.
Week 4: Short Mindfulness Tools & Positivity Practices
Incorporate short practices throughout the school day and after-school settings. Use Positive Psychology to ensure the unconscious mind supports, rather than hinders, children’s development. Practise meditations like The Mountain and Tree in the Wind.
Week 5: Empathy, Kindness & Emotional Intelligence
Explore the physiological benefits of mindfulness through case studies. Introduce age-appropriate Loving Kindness meditations and self-compassion activities to build emotional intelligence and empathy.
Week 6: Integration, Sustainability & Inspiration
Reflect on your journey and reconnection with your Real Self/Core Being. Learn how to create and sustain a mindfulness culture in your school. Access additional meditations for use with children, teenagers, and school staff.

Yes. The course prepares you to introduce age-appropriate mindfulness practices within your role. For full teacher certification, we recommend our 12-month Diploma.
What do I need to complete the course?
Internet access, a willingness to engage in discussion, and time to practise and reflect each week.
Do I need prior experience in mindfulness or meditation?
No prior experience is required. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some mindfulness background. It begins with a personal mindfulness foundation before moving into practical tools and approaches for teaching young people.
Do I need to be online at any particular time?
No. The course is self-paced learning so you can work through each week’s material in your own time. There is a group discussion board but again there is no requirement to contribute at any particular time.
Is there a live component to this course?
No. There is no live online component. The course consists of pre-recorded video and audio material.
