Explore concepts from CBT examining how thoughts, feelings, and sensations create a feedback loop. Research from neuroscience and neuroplasticity to understand how Mindfulness improves mental health and learn the Body Scan meditation.
Week 3: Flow & Clinical Practice
Learn how to apply mindfulness in client work. How mindfulness is not a standardised approach. How to tailor mindfulness to individual client needs. Explore Flow theory and unhelpful thinking patterns. Practice Walking Meditation and mini-meditation techniques.
Week 4: Thought, Compassion & Self-Compassion
Learn the timeline of modern psychology and the integration of Mindfulness with CBT and Positive Psychology. Understand the psychological development of thought and its impact on wellbeing. Begin cultivating self-compassion and explore Sounds & Thoughts meditation.
Week 5: Overcoming Worry & Rumination
Learn how to navigate common mindfulness challenges caused by thinking habits such as worry and rumination. Evidence-based research detailing the lineage of Mindfulness. Study Epigenetics and the benefits of Positive Psychology. Practise the Mountain Meditation.
Week 6: Integrating Mindfulness in Your Life & Work
Make Mindfulness sustainable in daily life. Explore physiological effects of meditation, clinical contraindications, and inspiring case studies of the success of mindfulness in clinical settings. Conclude with Loving Kindness meditation.

Can I use this course to teach mindfulness to clients?
You’ll gain foundational tools to teach mindfulness in a professional setting. For full teacher certification we recommend the 12-month teacher training course.
Is this course accredited?
There is currently no global accreditation for mindfulness. However, this course is professionally recognised and is used as CPD for many professions. A certificate of completion is issued by the Mindfulness Academy.
Do I need prior experience in mindfulness or meditation?
No. You’ll learn mindfulness through your own practice first, then explore how to share it effectively with your clients.
What do I need to complete the course?
You'll need an internet connection, time each week for practice and reflection, and a willingness to engage with discussion forums and brief reflective tasks.
